Elements: Paths, obstacles, decorations, game pieces

Introduction
Mazes and board games are designed to challenge players while being fun and engaging. A maze is a puzzle with paths and dead ends, while a board game has spaces for players to move along. We will use Icograms Designer to create our own maze or board game by arranging paths, obstacles, decorations, and characters.

Step-by-Step Activity

Step 1: Open Icograms Designer
Go to Icograms Designer and select "Figures" palette

Step 2: Designing the Maze (for Maze Games)
Select Cube to create the maze shape.
Add dead ends and multiple paths to make the maze more challenging.
Use obstacles (e.g., fences, trees, locked doors) to create extra difficulty.
Place an entrance and exit to define the start and finish.

Step 3: Creating the Board Game Layout (for Board Games)
Create a grid or path for the board game. Add different types of spaces:
- Safe zones
- Challenge spaces
- Power-up or reward areas
Use roads, pathways or arrows to guide movement across the board.
Add checkpoints and start/finish markers.

Step 4: Adding Game Elements and Characters
Explore icon palettes and add additional game elements and characters if needed.

Final Touches & Review
Students check their maze or board game design to ensure it is clear, playable, and fun.
Allow students to present their maze or board game to a partner or the class.
